The Eko Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association (EKOBA) has inducted fresh graduates of Eko Boys’ High School (EBHS) into the association in a historic move described as the first of its kind. The induction ceremony also marked the official opening of an EKOBA liaison office, further strengthening engagement between the association and its alma mater.
As part of the event, EKOBA recognized academic excellence by rewarding the top six best-performing students from the 2024/2025 academic session. Each of the students received a cash gift of ₦50,000, a gesture aimed at encouraging scholarship and excellence. The cash awards were donated by Ekorian Engr. Dr. Babatunde Adesola, Vice President I of EKOBA and Chairman of the Education Committee, on behalf of the association.
In his remarks, Ekorian Engr. Dr. Babatunde Adesola who join via Zoom urged the newly inducted graduates, now transitioning into college life, to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence, emphasizing that EKOBA remains invested in their academic and personal development.
Speaking at the event, EKOBA National President, Kayode Elliot, described the induction as a strategic step toward grooming the next generation of leaders for EKOBA. He announced that the induction of fresh graduates would henceforth be a regular feature of EKOBA’s activities, reaffirming the association’s commitment to mentorship, continuity, and legacy. He also assured that the cash rewards for outstanding students would be sustained, as part of EKOBA’s broader educational support initiatives.
The event underscores EKOBA’s dedication to celebrating excellence, fostering lifelong bonds among Eko Eko Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association and contributing meaningfully to the academic and moral development of students of Eko Boys’ High School.
