EKOBA Applauds President Tinubu’s Posthumous National Honours for Alao Aka Bashorun and Frank Kokori

Eko Boys High School Old Boys Association, EKOBA, extends its profound gratitude and commendation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent decision to posthumously confer National Honours upon two of its distinguished members: the revered legal icon, Alao Aka Bashorun, and the celebrated labour leader and pro-democracy activist, Frank Kokori.

In a statement signed by the National President, Ekorian Kayode Elliot, and released by the PRO, Ekorian Temitope Oluwabiyi. The association described the significant act by the President as not only recognizes the immense contributions of these two Nigerian titans but also highlights their unwavering commitment to justice, democracy, and national development. Alao Aka Bashorun, a legal luminary and staunch advocate for human rights, dedicated his life to upholding the rule of law and fighting for the oppressed. His legal prowess and fearless stance against tyranny left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s legal landscape and its struggle for civil liberties.

Similarly, Frank Kokori, a fearless trade unionist and a pivotal figure in the June 12 struggle, championed the rights of Nigerian workers and stood firm against oppressive regimes, even at great personal cost. His sacrifices and activism were instrumental in the nation’s journey towards democratic governance.

EKOBA believes this posthumous recognition of these illustrious Ekorian will serve as an inspiration to all EKOBA members and indeed, all Nigerians, to strive for excellence, integrity, and patriotism in their respective endeavors.
